Diabetes Prevention Week 2019
Diabetes Prevention Week 2019 runs from 1st April to 7th April.
Around 200,000 people are diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes every year but there are things you can do to reduce your risk. Making small changes to your lifestyle now can reduce your risk of developing the disease and the risk of serious health complications that can come with it.
If you are worried about developing Type 2 Diabetes or want to find out more on the disease, here are a few options for you:
- Go to the Diabetes UK website and find out more about Type 2 diabetes Prevention Week. There is also a simple tool to know your risks!
- Book in for a blood test with your GP if you are worried about your health.
- If you have been told you have a raised glucose level in your blood, book onto one of our free Pre-Diabetes programmes. They are run across Adur and Worthing and allow those taking part to learn a bit more about the condition as well as how you can make some simple lifestyle changes to reduce your blood sugar levels.
