Worthing Rethink Mental Health Carers Group is a peer support group of local people interested in Mental Health issues. The aim of the group is to provide information and support for families and friends of people affected by mental illness.
Anybody is welcome to go along to the monthly meetings. There is usually a speaker on mental health issues. They also offer a cuppa and a chance to share experiences and mutual support from within the group, people who have already been through many of the situations that can arise. They will also try to signpost you to the agencies that can help you solve any deeper problems.
The group is affiliated to Rethink, the national organisation for mental health carers, which offers support for carers and a national voice on carer issues but membership is not required.
Meetings are free but a small donation to cover the refreshments would be appreciated.
Tonight's guest speaker will be Charlie Shelford, ECT Lead Practitioner for Sussex Partnership.
